Description

The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. We are seeking a Facilities Assistant Manager to join our team. Assist Facilities Manager with coordination and supervision of the Center’s facilities management program, building maintenance, construction projects, and equipment upgrades.  Conducts specialized and complex facilities management work in support of operations and maintenance activities.  Maintains facilities and equipment in an optimal condition and performs related work as required.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  1. Assists the Facilities Manager in completion of various projects.
  2. Manages and handles office facilities such as furniture, cabinets, HVAC, and others.
  3. Plans, schedules, and coordinates general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling or construction projects for properties, equipment, and furniture as needed.
  4. Inputs office supply orders, verifies order accuracy, and distributes office supplies, furniture, and equipment as needed.
  5. Manages office supply inventory to ensure efficiency.
  6. Completes the daily building/office inspection routine to ensure safety and compliance.
  7. Liaises with building, monitors tasks relating to elevator, fire drills and other items as needed and/or in compliance with local law.
  8. Manages and monitors the vendors and cost for purchasing material and vendor services related to Facilities.
  9. Supervises and reviews vendor services quality and maintains the service contracts.
  10. Performs related and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  11. Drives/transport patients to other Center sites
  12. Ensure center sidewalks and entrances are kept free of ice and snow during the Winter and free of debris at all times. Grass cutting.
  13. Inspect equipment and facilities or observe maintenance activities; assists with the development and implementation of annual or annual shutdowns for facilities maintenance purposes.
  14. Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff; schedules, prioritizes, assigns and review work, approves time off for payroll purposes, and prepares employee performance evaluations annually.
  15. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by COO and Facility Manager.
  16. Oversees and coordinates maintenance and repair work including after business hours and weekend.
  17. Available 24/7 to assist with any facility related emergencies.
  18. Any other Duties that may be assigned from time to time

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Certification preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED. or extensive experience as supervisory in maintenance capacity
  • 5 years minimum experience in Facilities Operations Management, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License less than 4 points with satisfactory status required
  • Must have at least one-year experience working in a similar capacity at another job.

  • Computer proficient
  • Professionalism skills
  • Flexible scheduling may be required, including weekend or evening hours.
  • CLEAN NYS DRIVER'S LICENSE. Local travel between sites may also be required.

Salary: $50,000 and based on experience
